Tuition Information

2019 - 2020

Fees are based on 32 weeks of classes divided by 8 payments, August - April, due 8/1, 9/1, 10/1, 11/1, 1/1, 2/1, 3/1, and 4/1. You are welcome to pay tuition in larger chunks if you wish, for example: August - November and January-April.

A $35 non-refundable registration fee (that also reserves each student's place in class) is required along with a 2019 - 2020 enrollment form. If you are registering more than 1 dancer from your family there is just one $40 family registration fee and each student needs their own form.

There is no tuition due in December or May.

Tuition is to be paid by the 1st of the month and is considered late after the 10th and a $25 late fee will be assessed. Dancers will not be able to return to class until their account is up to date when tuition payments are 30 days overdue. If you need to discuss payment arrangements, before tuition is late, please call Miss Pam at 540.886.9355.  There is a $30 fee for returned checks.

Tuition is to be paid by personal check or bank check made out to SAB or cash. Tuition can be mailed to SAB at 105 N. Augusta Street, Staunton, VA 24401 or be put into the tuition collection box at the desk in the waiting room. Cash needs to be given to the receptionist at the desk so a receipt can be given. SAB does not take credit or debit cards now.

It is rare for a dancer not to attend classes the whole “ballet year” but in the case that a student does not wish to continue, please notify the director of the Academy before the 1st of the next month. We do not have contracts at SAB and dancers are able to discontinue classes when they wish if we know before the beginning of the next month. Parents will be billed for the month, if we have not been notified.

A costume/performance fee for the Spring Ballet Recital will be due 12/1. The costume/performance price is anticipated to be $80 for students who are in the Primary and Junior divisions and $90 for students in the Intermediate, Pre-Senior, and Senior divisions. Costume/performance fees that are late will be assessed a $25 fee. We will announce and confirm performance dates and fees in October.

There are other performance opportunities for students throughout the ballet year. In December, the Shenandoah Civic Dance Company presents their annual performances of THE NUTCRACKER December 6, 7, & 8.  Auditions for new dancers and re-evaluations for dancer's who participated in last year's performance will be held in late August or early September. SCDC membership/Nutcracker Performance/Costume Rental fee is anticipated to be $125. If your dancer is interested in performing in THE NUTCRACKER please let us know so we can get information to you.

Nearly all of SAB's students age 5 - 18 choose to participate in the International Dance Acclaim program presented each March. Students showcase several ballet exercises/variations for their family and friends and in front of an adjudicator. Students are awarded a certificate of achievement and a lovely medal for their efforts. It is a time to celebrate each dancer and their hard work! Anticipated entry fees are $46 and up depending on child's age and level. Patriation in this program is optional but highly encouraged by our teachers because of the improvement in technique and performance quality that the children achieve and the confidence and feeling of success it gives each child.
